Baalsdorf is a district of Leipzig to the east of the city centre and a sought-after, preferred residential location with good infrastructure.
Heiterblick is a charming small district in the east of Leipzig. Here you are right in the middle of nature. There are relatively few residential buildings, you are surrounded by woods and meadows, fields and gardens.
Representative public buildings such as the Federal Administrative Court, the University Library or the Universities of Graphic Arts, Book Arts, Music and Theatre characterise the southern centre of Leipzig. In the western part, the music quarter, many streets are named after famous composers. Due to its immediate proximity to the city centre and to the large Clara Zetkin Park, the Zentrum-Süd is a popular residential area with a pronounced old building fabric.
The combination of the Karl-Liebknecht-Straße with its vibrant city life, the quiet side streets with well-kept Wilhelminian style houses and the immediate proximity to the city centre makes the Südvorstadt one of Leipzig's most sought-after quarters.
Wahren is a delightful district of Leipzig with a very special charm. Located in the north-west, Wahren is probably Leipzig's greenest quarter, about 6 km from Leipzig city centre. It borders directly on the landscape conservation area of the floodplain forest, which runs through the city on a large scale.
The Leipzig district of Miltitz is different. Not different from Leipzig, as it is a part of it. But it offers a quiet atmosphere close to nature. With its suburban location, it is thus very attractive, including the city train to Leipzig's market square in 15 minutes.
The Buergergartenviertel is located south of the old town in the immediate vicinity of the city centre. The numerous villas, paved streets and avenues today remind us why the quarter appealed to the well-to-do.
Knautkleeberg-Knauthain is one of Leipzig's districts directly adjacent to the floodplain forest. In addition, there are numerous waters in the vicinity, all of which can be used for water sports.
Großzschocher is situated at the Elster Mühlgraben and the White Elster east of it. The floodplain forest surrounds both rivers. Großzschocher is a former village that was incorporated into Leipzig around 1920.
Engelsdorf is one of the youngest districts of Leipzig: Until the turn of the millennium, Engelsdorf was still an independent municipality, but was finally incorporated in 1999.
It lives centrally on the Sonnenberg. The city centre, main train station, Sachsen-Allee shopping centre and Zeisigwald, the city's green lung, are just 10 minutes' walk from the front door.
It is a special hill, a hill of superlatives: the most populous part of the city, the largest contiguous Wilhelminian quarter in Germany, some even think of Europe. And for over 150 years, with a short interruption, Chemnitz-Kaßberg has been at the top of the residential popularity scale.
Schlosschemnitz is not as the name - in German language - suggests the castle in Chemnitz, but a district of the city. Hier wurde das Benediktinerkloster 1143 erstmals erwähnt. The town was founded at the end of the 12th century from here.
Inner City North is a small area squished between the main train station and the much larger City-Northwest with Gohlis to the north. One of the tram stops, park and church on Nordplatz (tram line 12) marks the approximate centre of the residential area.
