Central Park in autumn

It was not only worth a report to the Washington Post that revealed the secret of who bought the 10,923 square foot (approximately 1,018 sq. m.) penthouse in the One57 building in New York's Manhattan, 157 West 57th Street, in 2012. The person paid USD 100.7 million at the time. The transaction, which closed in 2014, holds the record for the most expensive home ever sold in New York City.

An apartment with more than 1,000 sqm of living space does not occur so often. If you look at a rather normal size of a condominium residence there, which is still available in 2018, the conditions become a little clearer: Apartment no. 36D, for example, we would say a two-room apartment with open kitchen, bathroom and guest toilet has the following key data:

  • living space 1.021 sqft (approx. 95,00 sqm)
  • purchase price USD 3.750.000 (this is currently € 3.046.000,00)
  • purchase price per sqm € 32,063.00

A monthly

  • utility fee of USD 1,292.00 (€ 1,050.00 or € 11.00 per sqm per month) and additional a monthly
  • real estate tax of USD 2,399.00 (€ 1,950.00)

must then be paid.

Here you can still get some impressions, but let the marketing experts of the project developer have their say:

"... One57 graces the center of the famed Manhattan skyline. The condominium residences at One57 offer a lifestyle enhanced by cinematic Central Park and skyline views and the exceptional personal service of Park Hyatt's five-star North American flagship hotel.

One57 sits at the epicenter of Manhattan where The Plaza District meets Central Park. Often referred to as 'Billionaire’s Row', it is the ultimate landscape of society, culture and commerce. Much of New York’s iconography and mythology was born in this neighborhood."

... and stay tuned.
