Leipzig stands for many things, a long history with much preserved substance, the present with potential for further upswing and forecasts for a further growing future. There is a coexistence of nature, people and industry. As of 2010, Leipzig was one of the fastest growing cities in Germany, experiencing an annual increase of around 10,000 people up to and including 2017, corresponding to annual growth rates of over 2 per cent. With the highest German growth rate in 2014 to 2017 (6.9% more inhabitants each year), Leipzig became the eighth largest major city in Germany in 2018. According to forecasts, Leipzig will remain Germany's fastest-growing city in percentage terms in the coming years until 2035.

Leipzig City Center North

Leipzig's Innere Nordvorstadt is a smaller area between the main railway station and the much larger district of Zentrum-Nordwest with Leipzig- Gohlis to the north. The Westin Hotel, visible from afar, is located south in the area and close to the city centre. There are mainly offices, banks and hotels. The more northerly part is home to a couple of lovely streets with gorgeous apartment buildings, with lots of small shops and restaurants along Gohliser Straße. The boundaries to Gohlis South are fluid here. The Innere Nordvorstadt is directly opposite the renowned and internationally known Leipzig Zoo. 

The Rosental is one of the most popular historical parks in Leipzig. August der Starke ("the Strong"), who ruled Saxony from 1694, wanted to build a palace here. It didn't work out that way; therefore, from the undeveloped meadow, six lines of sight can be admired today.

Uferstr.

Uferstr. runs along the Parthe river. The street extends Emil-Fuchs-Str., starting from Pfaffendorfer Str. With one exception, the street is only developed on one side. It crosses Löhrstr. and ends at Nordstr. It takes one to two minutes to walk to the Rosental and the zoo; three minutes to walk to the city centre. The departure of the chosen train (or S-Bahn) from Leipzig's main station can be reached on time if you leave the house ten minutes beforehand. The central location ensures that all public transport services are within walking distance.

The building

The building is registered with the Saxony State Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments with the short description "Tenement house in a closed development; with gateway, reduced plaster façade, stucco in the entrance area, etched staircase windows, of importance for local development history. Building application July 1874 by merchant Bruno Hoyer. Plans by Oscar Leithold, master mason" designated as a cultural monument.
